Michael Okaty

Member of Advisory Board

Mr. Okaty is a business lawyer and managing partner of Foley & Lardner LLP’s Orlando office. His practice focuses on a wide variety of corporate transactions, governance, and counseling. He also serves as an advisor and trustee to high-net-worth individuals and families. Mike is co-chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

Mike has been recognized by a variety of publications including The Best Lawyers in America© since 2010 in the field of corporate law, Florida Super Lawyers – Rising Stars® for five years, Orlando Business Journal’s “40 under 40” for two years and recognized as a “Florida Trend Legal Up & Comer” by Florida Trend magazine in July 2004.

In addition to his legal career, Mike has been active in various community organizations in the Central Florida area, including the University of Central Florida Alumni Association, Golden Knights Club and Foundation, WMFE, the Maitland Art & History Association, the Orlando Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Brevard Zoo, and the OneBlood Foundation. He is on the board of directors for the New York University Alumni Association and is a graduate of Leadership Orlando, Class 65.  He serves as chair of a national committee of the American Bar Association.

Mike is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, California, and before the U.S. Tax Court.

He is a University of Central Florida alumnus, earning bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance and graduating magna cum laude from the university. He also attended the New York University School of Law where he received both his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees.

George Ochs

Member of Advisory Board

Mr. Ochs has over 35 years of experience in the real estate investment management industry. He started out his career at Prudential Insurance and then went on to JP Morgan Asset Management and for the last decade he has helped boutique real estate investment firms grow their investor base along with growing their institutional investor capital markets. At JP Morgan he contributed strongly to the growth of the real estate asset management business from $3 Billion to over $60 Billion in assets. George has a passion for philanthropy. From the early 2000’s he has served on various boards, created a scholarship fund at his High School, and lead his Bridgeport, CT community in raising funds for revitalization of the community. He has served the United Church of Christ pension board in various capacities such as trustee, executive committee member and chair of the investment committee. George is a University of Wisconsin graduate with a civil engineering degree and has an MBA from the University of Colorado.  He is an experienced portfolio manager, ultimate team player and collaborator, very concise and deeply respected throughout the real estate investment management industry.

Paul Bayer

Member of Advisory Board

Mr. Bayer served as Executive Vice President of National Retail Properties (NYSE: NNN) from January 2007 to June 2010 and as Chief Investment Officer from June 2010 to December 2020. He also previously served as Senior Vice President of NNN from September 2005 to December 2006. From September 1999 through September 2005, he served as Vice President of Leasing at NNN. Prior to September 1999, Mr. Bayer was a leasing agent at J. Donegan Company from 1994 through 1999. Mr. Bayer also previously served as a leasing agent for Combined Properties from 1992 until 1993 and as a marketing principal at Trammell Crow Company from 1988 until 1991. He is a member of ICSC.
