Head of Research

Mr. Hasfal is responsible for providing a top-down view of our markets as well as a bottom-up analysis of micro-locations. His work supports investment acquisition, asset and portfolio management efforts. Mr. Hasfal is a licensed CPA with other 30 years of experience that includes real estate investment management, research, finance, mortgage securitizations, public and private accounting, marketing and client service.

Mr. Hasfal joined Upshot after 12 years with Royal Bank of Canada where he was responsible for capital markets analysis for the global product team. He began his career as an auditor working for KPMG, moved into real estate investment management soon thereafter, as an equity accounting manager for Equitable Real Estate, and has worked with some of the most recognized firms on wall street including Lehman Brothers (pre GFC), Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan.
